Assistance from Library Consultants
We have hired a team of professional Library Consultants to lead the study and assist us with this strategic planning for the Library. Primarily, the consultants will be gathering input from the public and their architect will survey our library buildings in Marianna and Graceville. The consultants" fee has already been funded by donations from the public and by the wonderful Friends of The Library organization.
The project will include the series of public meetings listed above, smaller focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and a survey. That's where you come in! Our purpose is to learn what you want from your Library, to determine what kind of library we ought to be.
How can you assist us?
Attend one of our public meetings that begin right awaynext week! That's when you can tell us what kinds of services you would like the Library to provide. We want to know what you want. The gatherings will be relaxed and informal and the consultant will make it easy for anyone to express his or her opinion about the library and what kind of library they would like to see. Also, those who wish can answer on paper a few questions about what they want in or from a library.
Our consultants want to meet with Senior Citizens, Caretakers and Parents of Children, Teens, Business interests, Educators, the Home School Community, Community leaders, Library Patrons, and Non-Users. You can participate at one of the public meetings nearest you (listed above), or in a smaller focus group, or as an individual stakeholder.
For further information, or to participate in a smaller focus group, please contact the Library Director at (850) 209-0846. Or just show up at one of the public meetings nearest you.
We look forward to seeing you there! This study of our library may lead to big changes, and big improvements to your Library.
We are happy to announce the addition of the TumblebookLibrary to our e-resources for our youngest patrons! The TumbleBookLibrary is a delightful collection of animated and talking picture books with fiction, non-fiction and foreign language titles. The collection also features Read-Alongs (chapter books with sentence highlighting and narration), TumbleTV (pre-set playlists of a sequence of books), and Tumble Puzzles & Games. A great website for kids to access and download e-books. Your child can even create their own "My Cloud" so they can retrieve their favorite Tumblebooks from any computer, anywhere!
